Home Improvements
Here's my list of weekend home improvements is pretty short:
1. Raised my contribution to my 401(k) to 10%. I printed the form, and filled them out, now I just need to drop it off. It'll let me enjoy my home that much quicker when I retire.
2. I cleaned my bathroom. With all my whirlwind cleaning the past few weekends, my bathroom looked good but not clean. There was another open house down the street for the same model, so I might get some traffic from that. I'm asking just under $200,000 and the one using the realtor is asking $100 less than me. :) (Hehe, I think I know which person that was, that called to inquire on the place. They never gave me a name...very suspicious)
3. I painted my future home. My mom and I painted the back hallway of my fiance's house. It took us 4 hours, with an extremely tall ladder, and a plastic drop cloth. We managed to miss a few spots that we only noticed after the brushes were clean, break a lamp, get a few cuts. Everyone's OK and the hallway looks great.
4. It's a no-go on the invitations. That's too bad, but I think we'll manage. He wasn't too impressed with any of the samples, and they didn't have the one I was leaning toward. I have an idea of what I want, and if I make it (or someone else does) it really shouldn't be too expensive.
5. I didn't buy anything I didn't need. That's probably the biggest home improvement. We went to a silent auction fund raiser and walked out empty handed and satiated.
